I’m not gonna lie, when I first heard about this experiment, I was not pleased with it because of how it suggested that those who aren’t great at delaying gratification would ultimately end up failing in life.
I was completely unaware of the growth mindset that Carol Dweck so beautifully reveals.
I always believed that my genes determine my potential and I was predestined to fail.
I didn’t have much evidence to prove otherwise. I wanted things NOW, and wasn’t much good with patience or discipline.
Boy has that changed. Over time I have adapted an incredible amount of discipline in many areas of my life.
