Three In One

I’m combining 3 posts in one today. I have a lot to share but don’t want to “bug” my email subscribers by filling up their inbox with my mindless blog posts. So here we go.
Two Can Play This Game
I have to thank Sean for inspiring this post. Today I go to write something down in my handy dandy notebook. You all know that I’m a Professional List Maker and I don’t leave home without my precious “to do” list. 

I open it up and THIS IS WHAT I FOUND!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! I absolutely HATE bugs and this huge beetle gives me the creeps just looking at it. This is a REAL bug folks, dead, but real!

The second I saw it I KNEW that this was Sean’s doing.  He’s highly aware of my phobia and loves more than anything to see me freak out over these nasty creatures.  He’s been known to throw grass hoppers at me, put beetles in my hand, and let red ants crawl on me without my knowledge.  My first thought when I saw this was,  TWO CAN PLAY THIS GAME.
Then I searched the house for places I could hide our little friend.

Should I put it in his vitamins?
On his favorite magazine?
On his pillow?

In his shoe?
On the remote? 
Or in his deodorant?

Maybe next time he’ll think twice before messing with me.

The Escobars Featured in Prosper Magazine!
Now this is pretty exciting! My mother and father in law were featured in the the business magazine, Prosper, now available at any local Barns & Noble.  Sean and I even got a little part in there. We were interviewed by the magazine too, and they threw in a couple quotes from us and a picture. I feel like I’m famous now 🙂

Newest Wardrobe Additions

A few updates first. Thank you all for voting for me on top mommy blogs, I’m number #31 now. You can vote each time you visit by just clicking on the icon in my sidebar. I appreciate every vote 🙂
So, if you read my last post, you know that my computer crashed and I lost SO much information including my most cherished possessions, baby pics and home videos. So the update on that is, it’s going to cost ALOT of money to get it back and I’m willing to pay it. So for now we’re just looking around for the best price. Please let me know of any companies you’d refer me to.
I did a little shopping over the weekend and thought I’d share with you what I got, cause that’s always fun 🙂 I’ll also let you in on where I got everything.
This first outfit I got from Chic Boutique located in Sandy Utah. Shirt $46 and jeans were 50% off so I got them for $35. The shoes I got in the spring, and they are actually my favorite ones EVER. They are Steve Madden and I got them from Nordstrom. I looked all over the web for them so I could link you to it, but unfortunately had no luck. I guess they aren’t selling them any more. I did find a pair that are similar from Macy’s.
Then I headed over to American Eagle Outfitters and found these two necklaces , bracelet, and shirt. The necklaces were buy one get one half off, so I got them both for $30. The bracelet was $15, and the shirt was $25.

I love this shirt. It comes in all different colors too.

I bought the next few items from a Boutique called The Sweetest Thingz. They are actually doing an outside stand on 445 E. 12300 S. (Draper Utah) every Friday and Saturday. Just look for them on the side of the road, hard to miss. They have WAY cute stuff and very affordable. I got these earrings for $10, the hat for $15 and the purse which I TOTALLY love for only $40.

Here are a few pictures of Sean and I over the weekend. We celebrated his 30th birthday and had a great time. I took him to Flemings, AMAZING steaks and THE BEST chocolate molten cake you will EVER have, yummmm, my mouth is watering just thinking about it. Anyway, I got this little cute jacket like thing from Bohme Boutique for $40.

Here is a picture of me and Jen from A Daily Scoop of Chaos. She’s in town for a week and I got to meet her in person for the first time. We got to hang out for a few hours, it was awesome! I just love that girl. I got this gray shirt from Bohme too for $40.

I Feel Special Today!!!

Spring Forward

Don’t ya just LOVE spring!!!
I’ve been working my way around the house pursuing the yearly SPRING CLEANING. Cleaned my car out, swept out all the accumulated leaves and dirt in the garage, cleaned the basement, going through old clothes and toys, getting RID of stuff. I feel an overload with STUFF everywhere, toys, gadgets, clothes, ect. SIMPLIFY is the word going through my head as I weed through the piles and piles of unnecessary things we tend to collect over time. It seems like such a daunting task at first, but the results are so refreshing.
A while back I took a friends advice to pack away a huge box of toys for about 6 months or so. It was AMAZING what happened. I pulled out this box as I was packing for our trip, and threw a bunch of the old toys in a suitcase. The excitement my daughter had when I unloaded them on our trip was just priceless. She had completely forgotten about ALL the toys. It gave me that same giddy feeling I get when I save money. We usually buy a few new toys before trips for the kids to have something fun to entertain themselves while in the hotel room, plane ride, or car ride. So, in reality, I DID save money. My husband and I were secretly laughing feeling as though we’d fooled them into thinking we went out and bought them new toys 🙂
I have a new rule that I’ve been following for about a year now. I learned it from Peter Walsch from the TLC show, Clean Sweep. He says, “When you talk about ‘spring-cleaning,’ it really makes it an event rather than a process, I’m much more a fan of the concept that spring-cleaning or organizing is something you have to tackle in a little way every day.”
That is exactly what I’ve been doing over the past year. He advises to get rid of an item every time you buy something new. I’ve found this to be VERY helpful and has kept the clutter to a minimum, in my closet that is, haven’t quite been as diligent when it comes to the toys. We have an older home so unfortunately it didn’t come with many walk in closets. I think its been a good thing though, because I believe that the more space you have, the more stuff you buy to FILL the space. When you have TOO much stuff, you eventually forget about it or where you once placed it, and end up buying the same items over and over. Now each time I buy a new article of clothing I find an old one I don’t wear much anymore and stash it away in a bin. Once the bin is full, I either donate them, give them to my sisters, or I’ve even taken them to PLATO’s CLOSET a few times. I walked away with $40 cash once!!! That was pretty exciting!
So, as I was cleaning out and sifting through everything I realized that I need to start doing this with the toys as well.
I went through the entire house and made groups of toys.
Do you think Lily has enough babies?
I don’t think she’d want this many in REAL life so WHY so many dolls???. It’s totally unnecessary, so I’m getting rid of some and packing up at least half and storing it away for about a year.
hmmmmm, maybe it can be her Christmas this year 🙂
Everytime Sean goes to the store he buys Oliver a new ball. I think he’s got enough now but Sean doesn’t seem to think so 🙂
In the process of my spring cleaning, I came across this purse that I LOVE, bought it last spring, only used it for a few months,

then of course had to buy a new one for the fall 🙂

and now it’s spring again, so I felt like I needed a NEW one.

I spent $90 on the first one, but have come to terms with the fact that it will probably just sit in my closet and never get used again. Changing purses is fun, and I know I’ll keep finding one I like more each season. So, what I thought I’d do, was offer it to one of you! I will make it a giveaway!!! I’ll keep this going until the 1st of May.

Great Jewelry finds

NEW YORK & COMPANY is my new favorite place to find cute, affordable jewelry (prices rang from $15-$25). I’m not a fan of their clothes as much so I don’t usually go in there. But, as you all know, I LOVE coupons, so anytime I get a coupon I have this obsession with using it, even if I don’t need anything. I know this isn’t a healthy way to spend money, but I get great satisfaction from saving money 🙂
