How Do You Feel?

I don’t know about you but I am feeling SICK… sick from eating so much crap over the weekend. I’m sure I gained at least 5 lbs and feelin it in my jeans.

I’m getting ready to do a cleanse and thought I’d answer a few frequently asked questions about the program I do.

What do you DO when you’re cleansing? Do you get to eat at all?

First of all, YES, you do get to eat on certain days. It starts out with 2 warm up days, you’ll be replacing 2 meals with the meal replacement shakes, and have one regular healthy meal around 400-600 calories. Then you’ll start the 9 day with 2 days of cleansing where you’ll basically just be on a liquid diet, drinking the cleanse juice provided in the 9 day Pak (it’s not as hard as it sounds, with the amount of water you’ll drink as well as the cleanse juice, surprisingly you won’t be that hungry). Then you’ll do 5 days of the shakes again (shake, meal, shake), then finish with another 2 cleansing days.

Will I gain the weight back?

Yes, you will gain the weight back if you don’t go on some sort of maintenance program or begin making regular cleansing part of your life. There is no such thing as a quick fix, cleansing should be done as often as every 3 to 6 months. Just like changing the oil in your car in order for it to run properly, so is it with the body. I am not the type of person that can just eat perfectly for the rest of my life, I like to enjoy all the yummy foods this world has to offer, so I don’t deprive myself. I have noticed that I crave less of the junk after cleansing though. As for the maintenance program, it’s very simple, all I do is I start out each day with my yummy Isalean shake. It’s quick and easy, and tastes great! Plus I just feel good when I have the shakes, it’s the best way to start out my day, providing the body with all the nutrients it needs. I’m sure you all know that our food these days is not what it used to be. Our food is depleted of nutrients, which means we eat WAY more than we really need. Our body is only telling us it’s hungry, because it’s craving NUTRIENTS!

How will I feel during the cleanse? Nauseous, hungry, tired, headaches, ect? Will I be stuck to the toilette all day?

First of all, NO, you won’t be stuck to the toilette, if anything you may experience a little constipation, but nothing a little magnesium can’t fix 🙂 Most people feel fine during the cleanse, but it’s totally normal if you experience a minor case of any of the above. Just take it easy on cleanse days, drink lots of water, and take a nice relaxing bath.

How much does it cost?

About $5 a meal, which I don’t think is too bad considering what the average person is spending on consumable products. Think about the amount of money you’re already spending each day on things you consume, Starbucks, Diet cokes, fast food, ect. I’ve had people tell me that they’ve actually SAVED money when they were on a cleanse. Here is a great cost breakdown you can look at. Just click on it to enlarge.

Why I Do What I Do

I remember as a little girl I would dream of having lots of money and imagine all the things I would buy if I was a millionaire. I had big dreams as most children do. I was going to become a famous actress and have all the money in the world.
As we grow up, little by little our dreams become just that… dreams. Reality sets in, and you realize it’s a whole lot harder than you thought to be and do the things you REALLY want. After graduating high school I got my first taste of independence. I started to realize there was NO TIME for creativity, with working all day just to make enough money to pay my rent, car payment, gas, food, ect. I remember thinking, this can’t be what life is all about. There’s got to be a way I can make lots of money and work less so I could have the TIME to explore my creativity and find out what I’m good at. Well guess what? I did find a way, and my dreams HAVE come true. My husband and I are actually MILLIONAIRES. Seriously, I feel weird saying it, but we really are considered “millionaires”. We made our first million about 2 years ago, and have now made 3 million dollars. I don’t tell you this to brag and say, yah look at us, we’re so amazing and have lots of money. I’m sharing this with you because what we do and what we DID is something anyone can do. My husband and I both don’t have any college education, we’re just average people who found a great opportunity. I grew up extremely poor, and to be on the complete opposite end financially just seems too good to be true. We have no debt, money in the bank, and a huge retirement waiting for us. It’s such an incredible feeling to be financially free. I was once buried in debt and it was an awful CONSTANT feeling of stress.
Yes, we ARE network marketers. I understand the stigma that comes with the word “network marketing” or “multi level marketing”. Most people have dabbled in it in some way or another, and because they either lost money or didn’t see success, they’ve developed a negative opinion towards the idea. You steer clear of anyone involved in it, avoid their phone calls, and probably even run when you see them coming. Well, let me just tell you something. First of all, not all network marketing companies are created equal. If you’ve been involved in a network marketing company, and didn’t see success, you shouldn’t think they’re ALL bad. Pyramid scams DO exist, but it’s your job to do the research before jumping into something head first.

Because of the cynical judgement given to all mlm companies, I wanted to offer up my side of the story. I have an insatiable desire to be heard and understood, hence the reason I blog. I feel like blogging gives me a chance to explain why I do what I do, and say what I say. Everyone deserves a chance to be heard right :).
So anyway, back to my childhood dreams. Even though reality hit and I learned that life is a lot harder than I thought, it still didn’t discourage me from really living my dreams. There was so much I wanted to do and learn, but working for the majority of the day didn’t seem to be ideal for me. I wanted more out of life, and network marketing seemed to lead the way to achieving these things. I’m not saying that joining a network marketing company is your only way to make dreams happen, all I’m saying is that if you tried at something before, and failed, don’t give up. Contrary to what most people say about mlm, success doesn’t come easy, it’s NOT a “get rich quick” business, it requires dedication, commitment, and should be treated like a real profession.
You have to ask yourself these questions.

Is this something I’m EXTREMELY passionate about? Have I seen personal results with the product, do I have a story to share.
Is this going to cost me a lot of money to get involved with? Can I afford it? (never go into debt when joining a company).
Do I know the compensation plan? Is it lucrative?
Do I have the TIME to devote to this, and am I WILLING to put forth the effort it requires? As a mom, I’ve seen success first hand by devoting just 10 hours a week.

When I first started up my blog, I made a list of things I wanted to write about. One of them included, “Business women- Success IS possible!” I don’t think I’m so great and have ALL the answers, but I do think I have a lot to offer. I want to help you see success in your own business, what ever it may be. Isagenix is the company I chose after considering all the questions above, but I understand that everyone is different, and you have to find what you’re passionate about. My passion is health and weight loss.
We all know that money is tight these days, and I bet you’ve been considering going back to work, or trying to come up with a way you can contribute to the household income. Here’s the first step, find what YOU are passionate about, ask yourself all the questions above, and get started. Forget about all the times you’ve failed in the past, keep your eye on the goal, pick yourself up and try again.

There have been many things I’ve tried in the past, and have failed miserably, but we just have to realize that it’s all part of being successful. We’ve got to keep moving forward towards our dreams. One of our greatest examples of someone who kept pushing through despite all his failures, was Abraham Lincoln. Born into poverty, he was faced with defeat most of his life. Here’s his road to the White House.

It’s all about balance ladies. You CAN make this happen. You’ve just got to get your priorities straight, figure out what’s most important to you, and plan out your day. If you find that you’re overwhelmed and don’t have enough time in the day to do it all, then it’s time to reevaluate. Figure out what you can do without. It may mean cutting out you’re favorite shows on the DVR, or spending less time on the computer. What are you doing today, that will get you where you want to be?

Three In One

I’m combining 3 posts in one today. I have a lot to share but don’t want to “bug” my email subscribers by filling up their inbox with my mindless blog posts. So here we go.

Two Can Play This Game

I have to thank Sean for inspiring this post. Today I go to write something down in my handy dandy notebook. You all know that I’m a Professional List Maker and I don’t leave home without my precious “to do” list.

I open it up and THIS IS WHAT I FOUND!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! I absolutely HATE bugs and this huge beetle gives me the creeps just looking at it. This is a REAL bug folks, dead, but real!

The second I saw it I KNEW that this was Sean’s doing. He’s highly aware of my phobia and loves more than anything to see me freak out over these nasty creatures. He’s been known to throw grass hoppers at me, put beetles in my hand, and let red ants crawl on me without my knowledge. My first thought when I saw this was, TWO CAN PLAY THIS GAME.
Then I searched the house for places I could hide our little friend.

Should I put it in his vitamins?

On his favorite magazine?

On his pillow?

In his shoe?

On the remote?

Or in his deodorant?

Maybe next time he’ll think twice before messing with me.

Now this is pretty exciting! My mother and father in law were featured in the the business magazine, Prosper, now available at any local Barns & Noble. Sean and I even got a little part in there. We were interviewed by the magazine too, and they threw in a couple quotes from us and a picture. I feel like I’m famous now 🙂

Fountain of Youth

Don’t you wish there really was such thing as the fountain of youth?
Instead, all we have to look forward to is botox and plastic surgery. I’m all about preventing premature aging, although this wasn’t always the case. Now looking back at all the hours I spent in the sun, staying up way too late, drinking alcohol and experimenting with cigarettes. I wish I could take it all back for the sake of my skin… oh AND my health of course 🙂
I’ve mentioned that I’m reading this amazing book on the brain called Magnificent Mind at Any Age (1st): Natural Ways to Unleash Your Brain’s Maximum Potential [Treat Anxiety, Memory Problems, ADD, and Insomnia]. I’m seriously learning some incredible things about the brain from this book. The Author says that the most effective way of preventing premature aging is by increasing blood flow. Anything that limits blood flow will dramatically age all your body’s organs, and we all know that our skin is the most important organ. Life isn’t worth living if you’ve got wrinkles and saggy skin!!! Okay, you all know I’m kidding right?
Anyway, I wanted to share with you the list of things mentioned in the book that are all factors in what limits or disrupts blood flow. (note, the bold text is from the book, and the italic are my thoughts and comments.)

Stress. The overflow of the stress chemical adrenaline constricts blood flow to many areas of the body. Ha, well, how in the heck are we supposed to eliminate stress in motherhood? That’s a tough one. I guess my suggestion would be a weekly date night, a monthly girls night out, then of course you gotta have your own personal cook, housekeeper, and nanny. That should do the trick.
Caffeine. This substance directly constricts blood flow to the brain, disrupts sleep, and is involved in dehydration. We all know that eliminating caffeine is NOT an option!!! I know I could do better at cutting back, but why not just drink more water? Sounds like a better plan to me.
Nicotine. Aw, crap! Do I really have to give up my tobacco chew?
Environment toxins. These toxins poison blood vessels. This is the biggest reason why I’m so into cleansing the body. I’ve learned how important it is to rid your body of these toxins in order to maintain better health and of course lose the excess pounds we all tend to put on as we get older. I use to think that it’s normal to gain weight as you get older. Well, it IS normal, but there are ways of preventing this awful curse. If you haven’t already tried the cleanse I do periodically, then you should seriously look into it. I lost 25 lbs and went from a size 10 to a 5. Lack of sleep. People who get less than six hours of sleep at night have lower overall blood flow to the brain. Gosh, it’s no wonder women tend to age faster than men. Women get way less sleep, especially during pregnancy and with a new born. A lot of moms have trouble falling asleep at night because our minds are going a million miles a minute thinking about all the things that need to get done the next day. I’ve found Melatonin to be very effective. It TOTALLY works. It’s only $5 on amazon or most any grocery store has it, look for it in the vitamins section.
Lack of exercise. In addition to weakening the heart pump, too little exercise allows blood vessels to become droopy and less efficient. Droopy? Well um, I don’t think I want anything else on my body getting droopy, inside or out. There’s nothing good that comes from droopy. Anyway, I truly believe that a 20 min work out each day is all it takes. I’m actually doing the Insanity work out right now, but it’s the first time in years that I’ve pushed myself this hard. I just thought I needed a little pick me up so I’m giving it a shot.
Drug or Alcohol abuse. These substances are directly toxic to the vascular system. Drugs or alcohol cause a toxic Swiss cheese appearance on scans from the overall decreased blood flow. Hmm, a swiss cheese brain doesn’t sound too good. This one is easy for me since I’m a Mormon and already follow the word of wisdom. If it wasn’t for my strong belief in the teachings of the LDS church I would most likely be a drunken mess, embarrassing myself in public, slurred speech, shouting out loud obnoxious comments at the grocery store while removing articles of clothing and forgetting things like, my name and where I am.

So the moral of the story is: Stay young and beautiful by living a stress free life. Stop drinking all that rum and coke, overcome your Nicotine addiction, drink more water, get at least 8 hours of sleep, exercise like a maniac, lock yourself up in a air filtered room, NEVER go outside or eat anything other than organically pure food, or you can just cleanse 🙂

Weight Loss & Jewelry ~ FAB Friday Giveaway!

Today I’d like to introduce you to my friend Tezsia Mills the founder and designer of TEZ~MI jewelry. I’ve known Tezsia for about 3 years now. It’s funny because we met on myspace through mutual friends, and have become good friends since. We’ve hung out together, had playdates and have really enjoyed getting to know each other. I just love Tezsia, she is such an inspiration to me. She’s going to share with you her recent results on her 30 day Isagenix program. She had a baby not too long ago and wanted to do a cleanse to jump start her goal of getting the baby weight off. At the begining of the 30 day program I weighed 159 lbs. I currently weight 145 :0) I have lost a TON of inches and my butt shrunk.. my upper thighs .. On the cleanse days I kept myself busy and packed my bottles of plain waters with me and in a cooler kept my premade cleanse bottles cold. It is easier I have found if you keep yourself busy it makes the time fly. On day 1 of the cleanse it went pretty well but towards the end of the day I just wanted to go to bed, but by day 2 and I would say about at about noon I was full of energy. I had read a lot of things having to do with toxins in the body and after getting my epidural I really didn’t think those things “stayed in my body” especially because I could feel my toes and everything nor did I think that what I ate was bad for me. I have found after doing cleanses it almost feels like my body breaths better. Its a weird analogy to think of but its almost like when you have a bad cold and you can’t breath and when you finally clear it up you feel better and function better. This is an all over function better, clarity.

What I am doing now since I have lost basically all of the weight and that was within the 30 day program. I still do the shakes in the morning its a fast breakfast. I eat a Salad or a mixure of fruit and veggies for lunch and a very simple protein dinner. I am a girl who LOVES food. I mean I gained 60 lbs with my pregnancies. I LOVE food! So I don’t starve myself nor will I eat cardboard and napkins.. I just use lemon juice on my salads now instead of heavy ranch or I’ll pick apples and grapes over potato chips most of the time :0)
